In high school, I was obsessed with Entertainment Weekly. Rather, Entertainment Weekly’s website. I was also obsessed with Lost and EW’s coverage of it. Jeff Jensen and Dan Snierson’s recap show, Totally Lost was the highlight of my week (other than, you know, watching Lost).* One day, in yearbook class - yes, yearbook is a class in rural Michigan high schools- it dawned on me. It was someone’s job to make those videos. I didn’t have to be a banker or a bus driver or any of the other jobs from a Richard Scarry book. I could be a producer!

I never got to work for Entertainment Weekly but I did find two amazing mentors at A+E Networks that helped me grow from an intern (who still wasn’t super sure what a producer did) to the Senior Producer I am today (I have mostly figured out what a producer does).
